I wasn't in this particular conference, but I've been in many others on
AOL in the past. I've never found it difficult to follow a conference (or
any chat on AOL) even with many people "talking" at once. The entire AOL
(and probably most other company's) chat area is like this...there are
usually about 23 people in a room, many of them having completely
unrtelated conversations to the "main topic" (if there is one) of the
room.

It takes some getting used to, and I remember the first time I entered a
room (some 4 years ago) it seemed pretty much chaotic, unruly, and
impossible to make sende out of...now it's not a problem at all. It took
maybe 10 or 15 minuted to adjust...basically you start to filter out
everything but the comments of the person(s) you're interested in. Also,
you can "ignore" comments (they won't show up on your screen) from anyone
in the room, you can highlight certain people's text in various colors (I
do this for conferences), and you can certainly focus your attention on
the appropriate person's comments.

Finally, you have to remember that, for many of these 3DO conferences, the
responses are coming pretty slow from the guest. His/her typing skills
aren't usually up to his/her marketing, programming, etc skills...and it's
tough to sit on your hands and wait... If you were IN the conference, I
don't think it would be so bad...and I'm sure the 3DO reps have gotten
used to it by now. Reading the log later makes it a lot harder than when
it's "live"...so I think the edit feature is well used on these logs...
